Thank you for your help and care with the stray quail we found. You guys were so hospitable and helpful. It's so wonderful to know a place like the Medical Center for Birds is out there to care for our wildlife. Thanks again for your graciousness, we are so happy to know our little stray quail is in a great place with great people!

A big THANKS to Dr. Speer, Dr. Olsen, Melody, Brandy, and Staff for their effort in saving our beloved beautiful Jardine parrots named Kermit. He was near death with a dog bite on his head. With the center's talent & dedication, Kermit came home with us just 9 days later (Jan 11, 2012). He is still recovering but doing very well. A huge thank you to Dr. Speer for taking such great care of Sammy, our Blue & Gold Macaw. We drove from San Francisco and it was worth every mile. Dr. Speer had him out of his carrier, pet him and made him feel very comfortable and at ease. And this is very important since he had a panic attack the last time he saw a veterinarian. After 17 years, we finally found a doctor that we love and trust. I can't say thank you enough.

Dr. Speer, Dr. Olsen, and all staff--Thank you for the lifesaving surgery you did for our pigeon! We would give you the highest recommendation ever, for the loving care you gave our bird. You were patient beyond belief, answering all our questions and helping us with diet and environmental/behavioral changes that we can make to keep our bird healthy for many years to come. Well worth the 5 hour drive. Thank you for your kindness, expertise, and love of birds! We'll be back.

Dear Dr. Speer, Linda, Tammy, Brenna, Sara, Jennifer and Brandy (and eveyone else),
Thank you so much for the wonderful sympathy card with all the cute little animals on it. The animals are so lovingly drawn and have such happy little faces. It seems like they are all in heaven and feeling better than ever!
I feel so appreciated and understood by your kind comments about losing my cute little Jack. I feel as though I’m part of your “family†and that we are all together on all the feelings, sad and happy about Jack. Thank you for your help and kindness in caring for him, and for the last kindness of putting him to sleep so gently.
Thank you for everything that you do, especially you, Dr. Speers, for putting together such a compassionate team. You all make a huge difference.

I took my Tiel, Malo,(really a girl) in and they found a hernia. Dr. Fitzgerald explained the procedure to me and made me feel very secure with getting the surgery she needed. First they had to convert her to pellets so she could loose some weight. Now all of my Tiels are eating a more nutrional diet of pellets and vegges. She had the surgery and my Malo is doing well now.
Thank you to all of the staff for taking such good care of my little girl!

Ollie the Bare Eyed 'Too sustained major feather damage to his tail. When all the feathers tried to come in at once Ollie was beside himself! His plucking turned into a veterinary emergency. Dr. Olsen and Melody were compassionate (with Ollie's parents) and expert at caring for Ollie. The "sick" visit was used as a teaching session for birdie physiology, behavior management, nutrition, safety, bird handling techniques.
Ollie has his "groove" back!!
Take your bird here is there's any way you can!

I took my Goffin in yesterday and she was admitted for surgery I know from meeting Dr. Fitzgerald that she will be in good hands. We had to drive 4 hrs but it was worth the peace of mind to know Phoenix is in the best of care

We were taking our baby kuikui to see other vet before Dr Speer, but there is not comparison with the type of services and knowledge he and his staff have. I think they are all the best in what they do. Highly recommend it!!

I have recently inherited a 31 year-old Amazon. Being new to the bird world, I was excited to be referred by several bird lovers to Dr. Speer and his staff at Medical Center for Birds. My Nanday Conure, Claus, and I have received excellent treatment from everyone at the Medical Center for Birds. Claus is an old guy, and would not be alive today if it weren't for the DMVs' knowledgable and insightful care.
The entire staff have been very kind and considerate to me, explaining my bird's health issues in depth and all of my treatment options. I would recommend any of the DVMs at this Medical Center to care for my precious parrot.

Dr. Speer--Thank you for the enormous amount of time you spent wth us and our chickens. You didn't rush us--even though I had a list of questions a mile long. Also appreciated the "chicken holding" lesson!
Your staff has always been very cordial and willing to answer questions when I call. I appreciate that since birds are new pets to us and I'm a worry-wart.
We'll be back. Well worth the drive to Oakley.
